Bio

Joshua Dunn is an emerging Australian jazz musician. Now 25, he has recently returned to Australia after spending a year performing and studying a Masters in the US as the recipient of an Australian Fulbright Scholarship (2014).

During this period Josh had the opportunity to study under world-renowned musicians and educators including Julian Lage, Christian McBride, Gene Bertoncini, Dayna Stephens, Matt Munisteri, Dennis Mackrel, Vincent Herring, Paul Meyers, John Mosca and Armen Donelian. He also performed regularly in venues around New York and New Jersey including at Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola with the William Paterson Jazz Orchestra (2015).

Josh has performed and studied extensively in Australia, graduating in 2012 with a Bachelor of Music with first class Honours from the University of Tasmania, and having played with some of Australia’s finest jazz musicians, including Nick Haywood, Jon Delaney, Matt Boden and Danny Healy. Since graduating, he has received grants from Arts Tasmania and the Australia Council for the Arts (ArtStart) to fund a 3-month study trip to the U.S in 2013. 

Josh is currently based in Hobart, Tasmania, where he is performing, teaching and continuing his research into the music of guitarist Eddie Lang.
